Kind of an overview.

Now that I have a few days left, I'm trying to summarize what I've learned based on the blog posts. Here's what I came up with so far:

1.Pay attention to details.
If you don't, they mess with your life.

2.Don't become obsessed with your works.
They may be good, but they can be better.

3.Crits are helpful.
They teach you how to take criticism and how to express your opinion about someone's work.

4.You can design anything anywhere.
In one of my posts I wrote that I can't wait to design cover to cover. Now I understand that you don't have to have an assignment to design. You can design and redesign everything around you. Because YOU want it.

5."There is always another option." (from the meeting with Jeurgen Haustler)
We are often focusing on our initial ideas, having a clear picture of how something is supposed to be. Accepting a different perspective is beneficial for your work and life.

6.Deadlines are not bad.
They are helpful, but you have to learn how to organize your time even if there are no deadlines at all.

7.Books and inspiration.
If you make it a habit to look at good design and things that inspire you, it will become easier to come up with a better concept and you'll have fun too.

8.No problems.
You should always find a way out of a situation that looks like a dead end. Even if you have to punch the wall.

9.Trash is treasure.
Don't underestimate things that seem to be useless. Maybe they're just not used right.

10. Atmosphere at work is very important.
I read that before you apply for a job, you should find out everything you can about the office where you will be working. Are the employees working in teams? Does the office have internal events when the employees get to know each other? It may seem secondary at a first glance, but it is important wheather the working atmosphere is friendly.
You can also be impressed (or not) by your first encounter with the company. If you get a chance to talk to HR managers, you can find out a lot about the team. Some companies have internal websites that have a list of all employees, their background and sometimes a list of things they like and don't like. Such websites are very helpful in the first few days of work when you don't know anyone.

11. Ppt rocks!
In school we make one PowerPoint presentation a year or so, but ppt is a powerful tool to present things to the client.

12.As an intern don't be afraid of assignments that are less than exciting. Even if it means to walk miles in 80F heat.

13. Help your buddies. They need you.

14. Stay in touch.
